🎻 Ethnic and folk music — Bolivian
RDP Antena 1 Fado
Fado, folk music from Portugal
Bolivian music draws in particular on a rich Andean heritage shared especially with Peru, northern Chile and northwestern Argentina, featuring the quena, the charango and the panpipes known as siku or zampoñas. The diablada and the morenada are festive, devotional dances emblematic of the Altiplano and the Oruro carnival. Huayño, sikuri ensembles and brass bands also hold a central place. National diversity further includes Afro-Bolivian saya as well as taquirari and chovena from the eastern lowlands, reflecting a musical landscape that is not limited to Aymara and Quechua traditions alone.
