🌍 World Music — sud americain

South American music does not form a single genre but brings together traditions born from encounters between indigenous, African, European and Creole peoples. It includes the Andean folklore of Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador, Argentine tango and chacarera, Brazilian samba, choro and forró, as well as Colombian cumbia, vallenato and currulao. Chilean cueca, Venezuelan and Colombian joropo, and Guarani music from Paraguay illustrate other important regional groupings. This diversity is expressed in Spanish, Portuguese and numerous indigenous languages. Today's music scenes frequently blend these legacies with rock, jazz, pop, hip-hop and electronic music.
