🌍 World Music — Celtic
Folk Radio 91.5 FM
Celtic music is a modern umbrella term mainly grouping the traditions of Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Brittany, Cornwall and the Isle of Man, without forming a uniform musical repertoire. Irish reels and jigs, Scottish dances, Welsh singing and Breton festoù-noz each have their own forms and instruments. Galicia and Asturias are frequently associated with the contemporary Celtic scene because of their bagpipe traditions and Atlantic identity, even though their present-day languages are Romance. Inter-Celtic festivals, folk ensembles and crossovers with rock or world music have greatly contributed to the international spread of this category.
